They surely won’t mind another person taking photos. As a San Diego photographer that is how I started. They may or may not want to pay you as a photographer.Either way it goes you are going to learn and gain some good experience. Since some of the biggest jobs will be weddings.
Finally you can start attending big events.Another huge job you may do as a photographer is doing event photography. I do San Diego event photography and it is a lot of fun. And doing it to make some extra money will make it extra fun. It will give you great experience taking shots at big events.you are going to pick up some great lessons by taking photos of all those great events.
